  • Jucy's BBQ... GOOOOOOOOD Good stuff served here. For the BBQ lovers, this is one of two places to go in Louisville worth the money. It isn't expensive, but good, slow cooked pulled pork or beef, ribs, beans, slaw, corn...mmmmm
    Good food, cool decor.

    Plain old BBQ sandwich.

  • Ruby Tuesday. I recall years ago when my cousin used to sing that song while we rode the Motherlode lift at Park City, Utah. Well, there's a restaurant of the same name here in Louisville. I'm sure there are more like it. The food is good.

  • Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, located at the top of the Kaden towers, offers an excellent view of the city. The food, of course, is excellent as well.

  • Wille B's BBQ is the second worthwhile BBQ place. Located near the river, with boat access, Willie B's has some of the cities, no, it has the city's best ribs! And the BBQ is awesome. The prices aren't bad either.

Irish Rover. Been there now. The atmosphere isn't as good as Jack Quinn's, but the food is as good if not better. the fish and chips isn't as greasy, but it doesn't have the yellow sauce. See my Colorado Springs page for more on Jack Quinn's. Anyway, for $6.95 USD you get a filling plate of fish and chips, which isn't a bad deal. The chips are good! And the fish also seems fresher than Jack Quinn's. They also have salads, soups, sandwiches, and other food like Fried Black Pudding for $4.95 USD. The have what looks like very good desserts, and, of course, Guinness on tap. Oh yeah. $4.50 for two 10oz glasses of Guinness.
Good atmosphere and food, full bar!
    Party room available upstairs.

    Fish and Chips, with Guinness.

The Old Spaghetti Factory is known for it's very inexpensive meals, and for re-imagining historic buildings. The location in Louisville is no exception - it is located in what used to be the famous Levy Department Store. You walk through huge glass and brass doors to enter the restaurant and are greeted by plush, antique seating in the waiting area. The bar is located upstairs and the downstairs eating area features a train caboose replica that you can actually dine in. Antiques decorate the walls and eclectic tables and chairs of all shapes and sizes adorn the dining rooms - some of them attached to bed headboards and footboards.

The menu offered at The Old Spaghetti Factory ranges from simple spaghetti with marinara sauce, to lasagna, to jumbo crab ravioli. All meals are served with fresh baked bread, tossed salad, a beverage (coffee, hot tea, iced tea, or milk) and a scoop of spumoni ice cream for dessert. Most meals on The Old Spaghetti Factory menu are in the $8.00-$12.00 range. There are very few restaurants where you can get that much food for such a small amount of money. Don't think for a minute that the inexpensive prices mean low quality food. The dishes at The Old Spaghetti Factory are superb in taste and quality. Everything from The Old Spaghetti Factory's famous Italian sodas to their incredibly tasty Mizithra Cheese and Browned Butter Pasta, is simply delicious.

I've always loved the spaghetti with Mizithra Cheese, but I've started ordering the Potpourri, which is a sampler of Mizithra Cheese, marinara, clam, and meat sauce. Granted, it starts off pretty with the flavors carefully segregated, but it ends up being mixed together on the plate and being sopped up with yet another loaf of hot fresh bread. Yummy!

  • Crazy busy, but worth it. Great food! You can get takeout if you want but it is good to eat in too. Great salads, the tomato artichoke soup is excellent.

Salad plate. You can choose 3 pastas or salads. House salad is excellent with pecans and a homemade balsamic vinegar, as well as tuna with granny smith apples, and then curry chicken salad. Never a disappointment!

Located in a renovated old urban building, this bargain favorite lights up the old, historic Levy Brothers' department store at Third and Market Streets. Although it is somewhat noisy, it offers well made if basic Italian family food. Very friendly staff, lots of natural light, dark wood furniture and a trolley car set in the middle of it all. Comfortable seating with many windows to view downtown city life.

Found everything to be very appetizing.

I missed Baja fish tacos when I returned to KY from California. Luckily, these guys did too, and decided to do something about it. Bazo's is located in St. Matthew's and features the fish tacos as well as shrimp tacos. Burritos and Chicken/Steak tacos also available. The salsa bar has extra hot salsa for the brave few.

Baja fish tacos of course! Great white sauce and served traditional style w/ cabbage and breaded fish. The white queso is bueno as well.
