I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE SKY LIFT. What could have been a great time at a beautiful place became a horrible experience for myself and my family. We purchased tickets at the Natural Bridge Sky Lift ($9.00 each) and were told we had 10 minutes to stay at the top. Little did we know it was a 5 minute hike just to get to the bridge. As soon as we got there, we were told by an employee that we had to be back at the chairlift within 2 minutes or we would be left to hike back to the bottom. My mother and aunt are in their 70's and could not HIKE to the bottom. When we were nearly at the bottom of the ride, the owner/manager started screaming at us for taking too long. It ruined our trip because he was so rude and verbally abusive. Since he is a contractor instead of a state employee, he can do or say anything he wants. We were so upset by the experience that we didn't even bother to go to any other part of the park. We just drove home.
During our October weekend at Natural Bridge State Resort Park we made two trips to the top of the Natural Bridge - one on foot and the other via the 1/2-mile-long Sky Lift. This is a relaxing and enjoyable ride, far more scenic than your typical ski lift due to the many rock cliffs and formations you will glide above. The ascent begins one-half mile from the park entrance and ends within 600-feet of Natural Bridge. Cost for a round trip ticket is $6.00. We took the one-way trip for $4.00 and walked back down via the very enjoyable 1.5 mile Rock Garden Trail.
There is a gift shop at the bottom end of the Sky Lift. Restrooms and picnic areas are nearby.
Open daily, mid-April thru the last weekend in October: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
