The is a very unique restaurant, with the HUGE tank in the middle of the room, complete with sharks and shipwrecks! The atmosphere is inspiring and the food excellent.

First off, I must warn you as a result of my own recent personal experience. Make absolutely sure that you remove your valuables (purse, id, GPS navigator) from your vehicle and take them with you when you enter the restaurant. The "hood" across the canal is home to some hoodlums who like to break your car window to get to whatever's in your vehicle. There are no security cameras in the parking lot of this restaurant. Now, on to more positive stuff. What else can I say about this restaurant? The service is great, the atmosphere is relaxed, the food is outstanding, the helpings are overwhelmingly generous! If you are a fried seafood fan, this is the place for you. Although, there are some healthy options on the menu as well. Your waiter will start off with your drinks, followed by a bowl of hot hush puppies (fried bread). Then she/he will take your dinner order. One of my FAVORITE appetizers is the Little Stuffed Bread. It looks like a dinner roll stuffed with a filling of crawfish or shrimp and then deep fried. Absolutely to die for!!! If you want a simple meal without all the calories, just ask for the Little Stuffed Bread with a salad and a bowl of gumbo and you're set!
I absolutely LOVE the shrimp dinner. It comes with a shrimp salad, bowl of gumbo, shrimp etoufee, fried shrimp, boiled shrimp, shrimp au gratin, 1 stuffed shrimp, and another bowl of shrimpy something but the name escapes me right now. Be sure to ask for a to go box when your meal is served because there is no way you're gonna clean your plate in one sitting. The food is fantastic. The seafood is excellent. The steaks are more than a mere mortal can consume. What else can I say. There is a large selection of fried and broiled Louisiana seafood as well as steaks and specialty dishes. Everything is great. My wife loves the crab cakes covered in crab augratin and I have to agree with her. The catfish is tender and juicy as are the shrimp and oysters. I have not personally had a steak, but I have been told by many that the they are great.

The place is just as much bar as restuarant. It is some of the best food in Baton Rouge. We love going there and go often. When we have out-of-town company, we take them there, and they want to go back. I have never had anything there that was not out of this world. It can get crowded and hard to find a parking spot of table, which should be an indication of how good it is. They also have a band on most nights.
The grilled asparagus is the best. The two sandwiches on focacia bread are wonderful. Also, even if you do not like tomato soup, try theirs. Fun atmosphere
The hamburgers are the best in town. Plus my girlfriend, who doesn't eat red meat, found a lot of items that she really liked. I would recommend it for casual dining. Ahh... Harringtons... open only from 11 to 2 Monday through Friday. Boy this place is a great lunch spot... and sure is busy from 11 to 12. At Harringtons you walk up to the counter, order, pay, and then you sit down and they bring your food... Kind of nice if you go with a bunch of people because you don't have to wait forever for the bill... that is, if you can get a table!
Go for the Daily Special... but if you go on Crawfish Pie day you better get there early or they might run out! Leave a Comment Theme: LocalPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: 329 FloridaDirections: Florida & Third, downtown.

Adjacent to LSU. This place has been around for a long time and is great all around. Good coffee, good atmosphere, good people. A great place to set up your laptop, read, or maybe even get involved in a conversation (in BR? who would have thought?)
