Adjacent to LSU. This place has been around for a long time and is great all around. Good coffee, good atmosphere, good people. A great place to set up your laptop, read, or maybe even get involved in a conversation (in BR? who would have thought?)
Favorite Dish: Iced Mocha with dark esspresso and whole milk.

A good restaurant and one of the few places in Baton Rouge with some neat-ness. Don't forget to cross the street and get your get-up from Perk's Coffee.
Favorite Dish: They have a seared tuna salad with blue cheese that hits the spot! Not always consistent though.

I thought that the food was over priced and under impressive. The fish that I got had way too much butter on it. The pasta my wife got was bland. The restaurant seems to be a poor attempt by a chain restaurant to compete with the much better food that Louisiana offers. The food may would have been good if I lived in a place where no one knew how to cook.
Favorite Dish: Good luck

The food here is great. The menu is a little limited, but it is all good. It is Italian with a mix of cajun.
Favorite Dish: The pork chops are the best I have ever had. The lasagna is loaded with cheese. The potatoes au gratin are wonderful and creamy. Crawfish and corn bisque is great.

The place is just as much bar as restuarant. It is some of the best food in Baton Rouge. We love going there and go often. When we have out-of-town company, we take them there, and they want to go back. I have never had anything there that was not out of this world. It can get crowded and hard to find a parking spot of table, which should be an indication of how good it is. They also have a band on most nights.
Favorite Dish: The grilled asparagus is the best. The two sandwiches on focacia bread are wonderful. Also, even if you do not like tomato soup, try theirs.

Silver Moon's is my favorite restaurant in Baton Rouge. It's on Chimes Street close to campus. The food is so good, I get hungry just writing about it. Try the smothered chicken with white beans and rice. Come hungry, because the meals are quite large. The tea is also very good. The place might not look that nice, but the food is amazing.

Mike Anderson's is a great place to get some seafood. Get some hushpuppies as an appetizer, and almost anything off the menu is delicious. This place can get crowded during the weekends for dinner and forget about it before an LSU game. The restaurant was opened by a former LSU football player and has various LSU memoribilia.

The food is fantastic. The seafood is excellent. The steaks are more than a mere mortal can consume. What else can I say.
There is a large selection of fried and broiled Louisiana seafood as well as steaks and specialty dishes. Everything is great. My wife loves the crab cakes covered in crab augratin and I have to agree with her. The catfish is tender and juicy as are the shrimp and oysters. I have not personally had a steak, but I have been told by many that the they are great.
Favorite Dish: Fried catfish, oysters and shrimp. Crab cakes with crab augratin.

Address: Hwy 22 just north of the Tickfaw river bridge.
This restaurant was formally a bar and was converted into a restaurant about 2 years ago. It is located right on the Amite river diversion canal.
The seafood is great. Nothing is overly greasy and most items are homemade. Portions are adequate.
Favorite Dish: The stuffed shrimp or stuffed crabs.

I started a job in the Bon Carre Business Center so I had to start finding places off of Florida to eat, and I am now totally in love with the Thai Pepper. Not fancy at all, but the perfect place to load up on some vegi fried rice, carrots in yellow curry, fried sweet potatoes and chicken in a peanut sauce. What diet?
Favorite Dish: Load up on the Buffet.
