    Red River Parish Courthouse

by Basaic Written Jan 28, 2012

Favorite thing: Coushatta is a fairly small town in Red River Parish that is also the Parish Seat. Coushatta is about 2/3 Black Americans most from families that have lived in the area for many years. It is on the northern end of the Cane River Creole Heritage Area, and is a neat town. Population is about 2300.

There was a lot of racial problems and violence here after the Civil War.

Fondest memory: I did not spend too much time here; but I like the architecture of the courthouse.
