Bourbon Street Blues Company, New Orleans
BBC as the locals call it plays host to live bands performing current hits as well as classics. They offer drink specials during happy hour as well as cheap shots and mixed drinks. If you're into the college bar atmosphere this will certainly yield a good time. Possibly a great venue for birthdays, celebrations, or just to partake in the local and not-so-local libations.
There's a spot on Bourbon , across the street from Pat O's, called The Bourbon St Blues Co that's blast. There's music and dancing spilling over into the street , so it's a little hard to miss once it gets going, and it gets going early.
It's a 'youthful' atmosphere but I've seen people of all ages.

This popular spot on Bourbon really has little if anything to do with the Blues but I mention it here for its cheap drinks and 'meet market' potential. Upstairs has 32 oz cups of whiskey and coke for 6 dollars, enough to nurse on for a good part of the evening.
