Unfortunately, I can’t remember the first Cuban sandwich I ever ate; I think it was in Tampa, but I love those tasty little pressed pork sandes. And Libiro’s makes the best I’ve had in nola, vastly different from the usual Po Boy sandwiches that pepper nearly every other eating establishment in the city.
Favorite Dish: Keeping with the traditions of working class food, Libiro's serves up several dishes that appeal to my less than finicky palate. My personal favorite at this slice of Habana is the Ropa Vieja. Soft, red wine infused shredded beef plated with black beans and rice...and lets not forget the fried sweet plantains…
with 2 locations, one in the CBD and the other Uptown, you can't afford to miss Liborio's if you like Cuban food.
The emphasis is on meat dishes like Cuban roast pork. The ropa vieja is a house favorite.
