Are You Ready For Some Football?

We saw the Superdome on the way in from the airport, and of course when we took the New Orleans tour, they mentioned it again. On their website, I thought that it looked like a giant hamburger all lit up at night. If I were a real sports fan, that probably would not have occurred to me.

They used to have tours of the Superdome but since 9-11 they no longer do that. Also our visit was BEFORE Hurricane Katrina made the Superdome infamous. After Katrina it was rebuilt and reopened in 2006. Currently scheduled are

The Superdome is home to the New Orleans Saints and was home to 20,000 Hurricane Katrina survivors in the summer of 2005. The area around the Superdome is beat up and looks like it'll take some time to return to normal.

Good News! The Saints played their first game at the Superdome in September 2006...the city is slowing returning to normal.

    Da 'Aints

We always went to NOLA to see the SF 49ers play the Saints.

The Saints fans were always so gracious, win or lose, that we wanted to go back and see a game to root for the Saints.

Once again, we were the kiss of death as they lost in OT to Carolina.

    Maybe next year.
Could be worse. We could be Cub fans.

    Wadda place!

You will be hard-pressed to not see the dome when in New Orleans. By its size, you almost HAVE to see it. I would take the time to drive by it, just to see its size. Plus, it recently had a multi-million dollar make-over, so it looks better than it did in past years. Of course, the best way to view it would be at a game inside.
