The Bossier/Shreveport Mudbugs are a professional ice hockey team that is a member of the Central Hockey League. This winning team plays 32 home games from Nov. through March at CenturyTel Center in Bossier City, LA. These guys are really great and extremely fun to watch.

Mark with the S'ports Pelican

Minor Baseball is in full swing in Shreveport! One of the fun activities that could be classified as sports travel OR nightlife in Shreveport is to go watch the S'ports! (note that the name of the team is also the abbreviated spelling of Shreveport!

Sarah and I went to the game on Visor Night, as evidenced by the picture below. Also, do not be afraid if the promotion when you go says limited to the first 1000 people... because we were able to get 2 visors each... since not 1000 people were at the park. So please go out to bid on Ebay for our other two hats!

Shreveport Independence Bowl

If you are a college football fan, and like cold weather games, there is no place better to watch some football than Shreveport, LA.

Home to the Independence Bowl, which hosts the SEC's 5th place team versus the Big 12's 5th place team, you are guarenteed a cold fun time!

There is plenty to do the whole week up here in Shreveport, so make sure to make plans now!

Equipment: Warm socks, thermal underwear, and a party attitude!

The lakes in the Shreveport area are stocked with Florida bass. The Red River has become one of the most popular fishing spots in the region which is full of catfish, bas and white perch. Caddo Lake which lies on the Sabine River and Cypress Bayou between Texas and Louisiana has the largemouth bass, catfish, crappie, and white bass.
