Ewwww

That's right . Misquito's carry and transmite the West Nile Virus you're hearing so much about. Unfortunately, due to all of Lousiana's standing water we rate very high on the reported cases list. They say that you are more acceptable if you are in the 50 + age range, however, only 1 % who are bitten by an infected misquito actually transmite the disease. So, if you come to Shreveport its probably best to wear plenty of insect repellant especially at dusk and dawn.

Not a place for the educated, caring, families of America.
If you are not one of them, you will be shunned.
Any allusion toward understanding of others will garner censure.
Yes there is gambling and all of the associated vices.
Yes the KKK (in full regalia) sits in demonstration of their way on
many a major thoroughfare.
All of the following are labeled subversive: Yankees, Catholics, Blacks, Jews,
and anyone else who “ain’t one of us”
JUST SAY NO, and don’t go!

While the downtown area is relatively safe and usually there are mounted police officers, it's still a place to be aware of your surroundings. Stay away from the West End of town, the area of Line Avenue is pretty shady - I don't 'cruize' around with the windows down. Particularly the intersection of Line & 70th.

Just the usual warnings - don't flash valuables around, lock them up or keep them out of sight. Watch out for the Mozzies, especially after rain following a dry spell, they dive bomb you.:-)
