    Crabbing the fun way!!!

    by ac_bouchouka Updated Apr 9, 2005

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This is my enjoyment, I love to go crabbing, many people catch crabs by cages, but I find the good ole string the best and fun way. Somtimes you may have 2-3 crabs on a line, while gradually pulling the string and scooping the net in the water to catch the crabs.

by ATXtraveler Updated Feb 8, 2005

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

If you are a college football fan, and like cold weather games, there is no place better to watch some football than Shreveport, LA.

Home to the Independence Bowl, which hosts the SEC's 5th place team versus the Big 12's 5th place team, you are guarenteed a cold fun time!

There is plenty to do the whole week up here in Shreveport, so make sure to make plans now!

Equipment: Warm socks, thermal underwear, and a party attitude!

    Monroe's Malone Stadium

by ATXtraveler Updated Feb 8, 2005

I would definitely recommend going to the ULM football game. It was a real community atmosphere, with some great food and fun before, during, and after the game. I didn't have to pay for my ticket, but I did buy lunch and bought a ULM polo shirt!

A little history on the stadium that the Indians play at:

Named after James Malone, the school's winningest football coach.

First game was in Sept. of 78

    Official capacity: 30,400

    133 ft. tall

    Fishing

As Louisina has much water (coast, Mississippi river, ans swampa) there are lots of places you can go fishing.
The fish in the picture is an alligator gar. It was caught in a levee after a flooding of the Mississippi river near Angola prison. As it was not caught with a rod it is not officially the second largest alligator gar ever caught.

Alligator gar are called trash fish, meaning they are not good for sport, they are not good to eat, and they eat other fish.

This is the worlds largest steel constructed covered arena which is unobstructed by posts. It is home of the city’s professional football team – the New Orleans Saints. The arena holds the worlds records for an indoor concert of 87,500 people which was for the Rolling Stones concert in 1981. It has also played host to more Superbowls than any other facility. With all the buildings attached to the Superdome, the complex covers 52 acres. The height is 272 ft and the diameter of the dome is 680ft.

Pete Maravich Assembly Center is the domed building to the right which is also known as the "Deaf Dome". The stadium which was opened in 1971 can seat over 14,000 spectators. The building was named after the late "Pistol Pete" Maravich, a LSU basketball star player who played three seasons and still currently holds the all-time career scoring record for the NCAA. He then went on to play professionally. At a cost of $11.5 million, the building is one of the most versatile on campus, providing a sports arena, concert facilities, and an auditorium. To the rear is Tiger Stadium, known as “Death Valley”. The original seating capacity was 12,000 in 1926 and the total capacity now is 91,644.
