This trail is set in a 30-acre Audubon Sanctuary, adjacent to the Abenakee Golf Club. The trail itself is only about 0.8 mile or 1.3 kms, and it's an easy walk. It brings you to the eastern-most tip of Biddeford Pool.
If it's a nice day, you're in for a treat. Rocky shoreline, pebble beaches, beautiful homes and summer places in the background, waves crashing up against the rocks, and the Wood Island Light (lighthouse) to the north. The tower and keeper's house were built in 1858, and the station was automated in 1986. There are a number of ghostly tales relating to Wood Island.
