The bay is quite nice, and peaceful. The falls dropping to it is impressive, and once was used as the primary raceway for the sawmills in town. Tours and cruises can be obtained from the bay. The bay itself is nice to take some leisure time and enjoy the bot and people traffic. The falls coming right through/underneath the town into the bay is a site to behold.

There are basically two places to visit for historical touring. The Conway House and museum and Owls Head Transportation museum. I would check ahead before planning the trips to these, though. The Conway house, according to the visitor center, was open. It was not. The house is from 1770 and the complex has the rustic home of the era and outbuildings showing every day life then. It is supposed to be open Tuesday-Friday and entry fee around $5-7. Located just to the south of Camden town. The sign is obscure. Volunteers apparently may not be there to assist, or maybe in the fall months?
Owls Head transportation museum is in that town. It is open 7 every day 10-5. I did not get there, but it has some old planes and cars. It is 2 miles south of Rockland on Rt 73.
The other thing to do is take a walk around the side streets in Camden for view the lovely homes/buildings. You need to look carefully or you may pass the Conway house highway turnoff, just to the south of town about 2 miles.
