I read in the local Ellsworth newspaper that you could get live lobsters fresh off the boat in the fishing village of WINTER HARBOR. So the next day when we were heading east, we made a detour off the Route # 1, and took the #186 south. Of course, it was a very foggy day and you couldn't see much. There wasn't much going on as it was not Lobster season. There were a few lobster traps sitting on the docks, but nobody was around.
An interesting fact I found is that The Harbor does not freeze over in winter making it an attractive port for the local fishermen.

$25 for 18-holes, $20 for a cart. You can even rent clubs for $20.
The course (fairway and greens) tend to dry out in the summer and play fast. The roughs are left quite long and can cost you a shot to recover. The holes are fairly short yardage with total being in the mid-5000 range. When it is wet is it very wet; drainage is poor (clay soil) and greens slow to a crawl.
There is an executive course with 9 holes that is quite easy to play and affords some fun for weed-whacking players like me. The trees are short; there are few traps and no water hazards. $20 plus $12 for cart for this short course.
There is a nice dining area with a snackbar for replenshing your energy after a round of golf.
The beverage bar is also available to drown your sorrow over the shots you missed.
