The biggest warnings are, if you see an out-of-state license plate on a car, be prepared to make sudden stops! The traffic in Ellsworth is horrible in the summer, due to tourist travel to Mount Desert Island. Tourists have been known to just stop in the middle of the road when they see something they want to look at rather than pulling over to the side of the road!

Ellsworth is just the town you pass through to get to the bridge to Bar Harbor.... unless you live there then it is the best hometown in the world. We did stop in for a quick bite at the local diner...
