    The Jameson Tavern: Historic Dining

    by Rich62 Written Dec 12, 2012
    Jameson Tavern

This place has been here since 1779, so I think it will still be here next week. The state of Maine was created on the second floor, when officials signed the papers making Maine independent of Massachusetts. Besides that, the food is good! What more could you ask?

(We were there late at night, so I have no actual photos. What I do have are illustrations from the take-home menu.)

Favorite Dish: Here are some highlights from the menu: Lobster Six Ways: (Stew, Roll, Salad, Steamed, Baked, Stuffed).........Captain Jameson's Brown Ale.............Fresh Local Haddock..........sandwiches too.

    take your choice.

The Corsican Restaurant: Friendly and casual dining in Freeport

    by SMarten43 Written May 20, 2009

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Excellent fresh food in a relaxed, always friendly atmosphere. Fascinating unusual art work on display (and for sale). Wide selection, from seafood to pizza to salads and sandwiches. Good choices of microbrew and imported beer, plus wine. Bright and clean, with seating upstairs. Just down the hill from the L.L. Bean main store.

Favorite Dish: We've been going here for years and have always enjoyed it. My favorite is the Vegetarian Pizza, but the B&G (White) Pizza is great. My wife swears by the Lobster Roll, and the Lobster Roll plus cup of Clam Chowder is delightful.

very casual, eat on picnic tables inside or out, while you watch the lobster boats move in & out of the harbor. This is a family run business since 1971.
