Lamoine Beach is (for Maine anyway) a pretty sandy beach. Translation... it has a bunch of small to mid size rocks that make up a crescent moon shaped beach. The beach/park is free and open to the public during daylight hours and has a wonderful view of Frenchman's Bay, looking across to Cadilac Mountain above Bar Harbor. It is a sleepy little town without any stores or gas stations. Just folks enjoying the downeast life. So go prepared with a picnic lunch. Also... bring a fishing pole with a few diamond jigs during late summer. There's good Mackeral fishing off of Bennette's Point on the right side of the beach at low tide.
