Favorite thing:
Just take a walk on the beach, the smell, the view, the air, its absolutely breathtaking.
Fondest memory:
My fondest memories are countless but I can still feel the breeze on my skin and hear the waves crash on the many days I just sat on secluded areas of the beach to draw or just to think.
Favorite thing:
Sit and watch the sea. So relaxing to sit on any of the benches along the Marginal Way route and just soak in the sea air and relax. That's right ... spend some time relaxing. We didn't have 'lay on the beach sunshine' weather, but enjoyed the sea air anyway.
Fondest memory:
Sitting in the 'tower room' at the Rockmere Lodge overlooking the stormy sea, sipping wine and reading a good mystery story.
Favorite thing:
perkins cove, hop on the trolley or walk to this tiny fishing village. we loved it so much that we found a bed and breakfast in the cove and stayed there each time we returned.
Fondest memory:
we stayed at 'the dunes' resort the first time my family went to maine. My parents used to take me there when i was a baby, but i obviously can't remember that far back. I was five and we had to row across a water patch between the dunes to get to the beach. dad miscalculated the tides and we ended up walking back as the tide was out, instead of rowing. actually, honestly i think dad had to carry me because i didn't like the feel of the muck between my toes. what was i thinking because i would give anything to feel it now.
Favorite thing:
Walk along the beach - it is 3 miles long! There is a trail called The Marginal Way (1 1/4 mile) that takes you along the beach and to Perkins Cove, a quaint fishing village with lots of great restaurants.
Fondest memory:
Great beach - the tide pools are fascinating!
Favorite thing:
You should make sure you ride one of the many trolleys. It is the best way to see things if you haven't been here before. They run from sometime in the spring until Columbus Day. It takes about 30 minutes to ride the whole route. There are many stops where you can get on or off.
Fondest memory:
The thing I miss most about Ogunquit is Roberto's Restaurant. It has the best Italian food in town. I love their Chicken Marsala. It's the best I've ever had.
Favorite thing: be sure to take the Marginal Way path from town to Perkins Cove. Lots of nice ocean views and rocky cliffs. At the end in Perkins cove there are shops , restaurants and boat tours.
