Because it is located within such easy distance (about a 5h drive) from Quebec City, Montreal, and other cities in the province of Quebec, Old Orchard Beach has always been a popular summer destination for Quebecois and you should therefore not be surprised to hear more French than English spoken on the beach and elsewhere around town. Many restaurants, hotels and attractions even offer full service in French!

The guy in the picture is Me!! It was a very refreshing swim!! It was my first swim in the Atlantic Ocean for over 20 years. That seemed strange to me as when I was a kid I went swimming in the Atlantic so many times in the summer.

If you enjoy people watching or just hanging out. Grab yourself and icecream cone and hang out near the fountain as the area is packed with lots of people in the evenings! This picture is taken in the morning! I don't know what time the fun ends in the area but I'm guessing it could be quite late!
