another good choice in Presque Isle for 'local flavor' could be Winnies. I usually only mention places I have eaten but Winnie's is worth a mention and if I return I'll try to eat here. Winnie opened this dairy bar in 1952. At that time and until many years later you walked up, placed your order and ate in your car or at an outside table. The place is on its fourth owner, a nice guy who really cares about his customers. He told me he maked sure his hamburgers (I don't eat beef so I would not try one) are from fresh ground meat -- if the meat is not today's he'll throw it out.
While all fish in Presque Isle is frozen he uses the best supplier and you can actually order a variety of seafood. The third owner, Patty, added inside seating and the place is quite quaint. Patty made the lobster stew famous and reportedly even sold it on US Cable channel QVC.
Where local folks eat!
Favorite Dish: stuffed baked Haddock -- a baked haddock filet sliced and 'filled' with New England stuffing or dressing as some call it. Delicious! (a Saturday night special)

Coppers -- the bar in the Northeastland Hotel -- they do a BIG business on Thursday nights with Karaoke. They serve two regional craft brewed beers along with a full bar. The servers are nice.
