Favorite thing: I just had to include this picture of me and one of the largest, in diameter anyway, granite rollers that I have ever seen. I have one at home in Cornwall, that's about 6 feet wide, but only about 15 inches in diameter. It weighs about half a ton, and I guess the one here weighs much more than that!

Favorite thing: The figures of Saint George and his Dragon are the work of a local artist, and, if I remember correctly, are around 20 years old. They are situated on the lawns of the Town Hall. If you go through Saint George you can't possibly miss them.

Favorite thing: Saint George is on Highway 131, from Thomaston (Hwy 1) to Port Clyde, and marshall Point.
It's like so many other New England towns that we had seen, pleasant houses, vell kept gardens, and very pleasant local people. So we were rather surprised to see Saint George and his Dragon, outside the Town Hall. We decided to stop and capture the scene on our return.

Favorite thing: We were checking out of our hotel at Spruce Head, and on our way to Bar Harbor, about 2 hours' drive. Well, you know how it is, we started chatting to one of the ladies in the hotel, and before long, she had convinced us that we should head off in the opposite direction to see the Lighthouse at Marshall Point. This lighthouse is featured in the film 'Forrest Gump', and we were then 'hooked' on having to see it for ourselves.
