In a nutshell

I love York Beach. It is the most relaxing place in New England.
BeachBumz Says: YORK'S WILD KINGDOM, located in York Beach, Maine has something to offer every member of the family. Each year more than 200,000 people come to visit the largest zoo and amusement park in the area. With exotic animals from around the world, YORK'S WILD KINGDOM is recognized...

Fox's Lobster House: Food Next To The Nubble
BeachBumz Says: Very close to the Nubble Lighthouse. Small restaurant, also has a little gift shop. Really didn't have a favorite dish. I had lunch there, because I just got to York Beach. I had the Grilled Cheese Sandwich. It was good.
jacquelinepaton Says: If you go downtown a bit, you'll find that there are lot of quaint little bars that overlook the ocean. It's nice to have a drink or two and then walk on the beach. They're also nice places to meet people who live in York year-round, or who are seasonal visitors.
BILL & BOB'S: Sterling Silver Jewelry
KarenandCory Says: HUGE selection of jewelry, some decent and some crappy. Some of the sterling silver jewelry is sold by weight. In my experience the staff is not overly friendly, I'm sure it depends on who you are dealing with.
KarenandCory Says: Most tourists come to York for Beaches and shopping. Few know of Mount Agamenticus. I had been visiting York Beach for over 20 years before I discovered this place. Mount Agamenticus offers panoramic views and you can see as far as Portsmouth, NH to Kennebunkport, Maine as...
KarenandCory Says: There is a basketball court on Short Sands Beach. It is always being used. I assume you just have to be lucky enough to find it empty, or wait your turn. At the very least, you young teenage girls can go check out the boys! Bring your own basketball.
KarenandCory Says: Cory's mom & sister came up from Florida to visit us for the first time. No lie, it rained non-stop the whole time. The rain caused lots of flooding in Maine. I found these pictures at http://pressherald.mainetoday.com/news/york/060515sidebar.shtmlWe were shopping here the...

I never saw a lighthouse in person before until I went to York Beach. I was able to get a picture with the lighthouse light on. What a beautiful site!!!

One of the places we enjoyed inside the zoo was The Butterfly Kingdom. You were able to see different colored species of Butterfly fly around freely.
