Cross street market: Cross street market

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

First opened in 1846, Cross Street Market is one of Baltimore's oldest operating public markets. This little gem in located in the heart of federal hill. By day, the market is a great place to find great prices on meat, seafood, produce, flower and wine.

By night (particularly on the weekends), it transforms into a crowded bar where you can still get fresh seafood dishes and snacks. This place hosts one of Baltimore's most popular happy hours with reasonably priced beer attracting crowds of young professionals hanging out in close quarters.

For a slightly more 'mature' crowd (late 20's lower 30's) try Happy Hour at the Cross Street Market on Friday nights. You can get Sushi, Oysters, Hoagies and of course, Beer from the market vendors. There are many bars on the tiny Cross Street, but they are beginning to branch out to other nearby streets.

In this upbeat Federal Hill bar, you can have a great sampling of Tapas dishes while enjoyed the variety of Martini's.
