Don't visit without checking the forecast first! by Jabberjenn The Baltimore area certainly is one of those cities that requires strategic packing depending on the season. Winters can be brutal here...the whipping winds scream across the Inner Harbor area, and even a few inches of snow causes the city to come to a halt. In the summer, it actually feels as if you were in a tropical rainforest...the temperatures soar into the high 90's and the humidity is enough to drench your clothes in a matter of minutes. You can get a wicked sunburn at an Orioles game, and be frozen to the core at a Ravens game! Be realistic and check "weather.com" before you visit!
Sunscreen in the summer and a frost-bite kit in the winter! (Kidding, but the weather is extreme at times!)
Loads and loads of film to photograph our beautiful "Charm City". Leave a Comment

Summer comes to the Baltimore area in November by AKtravelers In packing for a trip to Baltimore, you can count on a few things. It will be cold, damp and windy in the winter. It can reach 47F/10C any time of the winter, but there will always be a week where the temperatures will hover right around freezing. With the nearly constant wind, those days feel pretty cold. You won't need long underwear, but you will need gloves and a winter coat. It can and does snow. The summer, in contrast, is hot and humid. Expect near 100% humidity all the time, with temperatures above 90F/35C frequently. We hate it, but theevenings are nice. The fall and spring are the most pleasant seasons. Fall is the best, with warm weather potentially lasting until Thanksgiving. The attached picture was taken on 7 November, and it was shorts and tee shirts weather. We call this "Indian Summer". However, we've had a 10-inch/.25 meter snow storm on 11 November, so the fall can be fickle.
November and March/April would be the hardest months to pack for, as you can have everything from a blizzard to a summer day during those months. Leave a Comment

by drmorf I was able to take just a carry-on for my 5-day stay. It was HOT and HUMID three of the five days I was in Baltimore-prepare to sweat! Check out the huimidity just hanging in the air above Camden Yards in the photo.
Casual works everywhere I went. Baltimore seems very laid-back when it comes to fashion and snobbiness. Dress comfortably. Baltimore does have its share of thunderstorms in the summer-I brought and used my umbrella!
Bring a de-humidifer if you visit in the summer months ;-) Leave a Comment

one word, BACKPACKS. A must and a godsend when hiking around downtown. If you have a baby, don;t use a baby bag - BACKPACK. If you ahve a purse and want to shop, BACKPACK. Get my point?
Tennis Shoes in any weather, maybe some good boots in the winter, we do get snow, and we use salt. UGH. Sandals cool too in the summer. It get's muggy downtown.
Allergy medicine if you have allergy to ragweed pollen. Definitely. AND any asthma stuff in the summer.
Not many places downtown to just stop in and get batteries. Most stores are aimed at shopping tourists, not really at supplying tourists, if you get my drift. There are three photo shops that I know of - one in the Gallery, and two on Baltimore St.
Dunno, I always go home...lol.

Be sure to have good walking shoes. Nobody like to travel and have sore feet. This makes for a very uncomfortable journey. A little commen sense goes a long way when traveling. I hope you enjoy my town. Leave a Comment

Baltimore is a very walkable city, so remember to bring comfortable shoes or sneakers. You can spend hours wandering around the inner harbor, then take a taxi boat to Fells Point or Little Italy and wander around some more. Mt. Vernon also has a lot of museums, restaurants and nightlife in close proximity. Leave a Comment

any sort will do!
Baltimore is in the US mid-Atlantic. Summers can be as hot and humid as Bangkok and winters as cold as Canada. Most of the time its pretty seasonal and spring and autumn are just lovely! Pack clothes for comfort. Check any newspaper's weather page before coming. Baltimore's weather will be the same as Washington,DC.
Everything will be available here. Pharmacy chains will be CVS, Walgreens, or Rite Aid. Leave a Comment
