The Cheesecake Factory is a chain of restaurants (although there are not too many in the Baltimore area) that have the most wonderful cheesecakes that you can get either served in the restaurant or as a take-away. Trust me, after eating at the restaurant, you do not have room for the dessert -- so, do what I do, start with dessert :-)
I must admit, I am a cheesecake fanatic and one of the things I miss most about living in Europe is not having access to this restaurant. (Although when I head to the States to visit my grandson, my "payment" for babysitting in in Cheesecake Factory currency!).
There is a Cheesecake Factory in the Inner Harbor shops - closest to the World Trade center building. It is often crowded (the food is great) so when we have visitors, we often will get a take-away treat to eat when we get home (they even give you forks and napkins in case you can't make it that long).
Lots of varieties to choose from - the classic plain cheesecake to the turtle pecan caramel fudge to the chocolate chip cookie dough. These cheesecakes are rich and filling - you really can't eat a slice in one sitting - better to savor it bite by bite throughout the day.
This is definitely a sweet happy ending to your day of touring in the Inner Harbor!
Every one that has ever been to Cheesecake knows that the food is pretty good. That is why the lines are always soo long no matter where you find one. But Lately if we really dont feel like dealing with all the drama we just try to grab a seat in the Bar section. They serve you food in that section too. And at least you feel like your already sitting and getting service as apposed to waiting for a larger table or booth. Of course this only works if your not in a huge group and no they do not take phone reservations. You can call to see how long the average wait for a table is so you wont be surprised when you get there. If you have the time try it out....and if you only like there dessert then there are plenty of places to eat first near, then you can have the wait in the long lines to burn off dinner and you wont be starving to death waiting on food.
Favorite Dish: Crab Ragoon and Strawberry Shortcake (on a Biscuit)
The town I live in does not have a Cheesecake Factory, so whenever I'm near somewhere that does, I always try to stop in and have a bite to eat.... a great menu, a little pricey, but all-in-all worth every penny.
Favorite Dish: Pick anything on the menu. go ahead.. I dare you to find something without a great taste.
There are so many restaurants in the Inner Harbor area, it's hard to choose one! We just pick one nearest to us when hunger strikes. Pratt Street is filled with them. Little Italy and Fells Point have quainter restaurants if you're looking for something more unique or a specialty. In Little Italy, try Sabatino's or Della Notte. Fells Point is your place for pubs!
Favorite Dish: ummmmm..... cheesecake of course! Couldn't pick a favorite flavor-try as many as your belly can handle!
