The Sip & Bite: the Ur diner

The Sip & Bite is the diner I use as a yardstick. Every other diner is measured by the food I've had there, and generally, this other places come up short.

It's very bright, loud, and often crowded, especially on Sunday mornings for breakfast.

It's open 24-hours, but beware after 2pm when the bars in the neighborhood close...

CASH ONLY

Favorite Dish: Hard to beat the reasonably priced crab cake platter, especially when accompanied by cole slaw, and local fave, fries with gravy. (Just like in the Barry Levinson movie, Diner.)

Don't miss the club sandwiches on the days they have them. Fresh turkey, perfectly toasted white bread, and just the right amount of mayo.

Soups are all homemade.

I first walked into this place about 10 years ago with an old girlfriend because we liked the name...... It became the place we went the most, especially late at night when you'll likely be seated near some quite colorful characters......

Favorite Dish: It's diner food, I like the grilled chicken sandwich the most....
