Chesapeake City does have a public boat ramp so you can take your own boat fishing on the canal. I think they could have carried this one to the water from the parking lot!
They provide a water taxi to take you to your boat for free.

If you go down to the C&D canal, there are access roads running the lenght on both sides. All along these access roads are 11 wooden fishing piers, open and free to the public.

This is a small town. It is split in half by the C & D Canal. Wonderful old houses, great little shop and outstanding restaurants on the water. This is where the C&D Canal was started back in 1824,......
This place is Awesome. Especially West Hollywood,, gotta check it out. The weather is great.
