This is a little local place in a strip mall beside the highway. You can eat in or take it out. They have breakfast and lunch items that they cook fresh for you - it isn't as fast as a fast food place.

Favorite Dish: I had the pizza basket special, and Bob had a meatball sub.

Don't expect anything but remarkably bad manners at Bowens: The male owner thinks skinny, gray-haired, middle-aged women are very likely to be criminals. If your credit card doesn't work (for unknown reasons), and you offer an out of state check, and finally offer to go and get a local check from a family member who lives literally up the street, you can count on being insulted by a true local yokel, a nasty old fart who brings to life all those stereotypes about residents of rural areas. The treatment I received here has led my local family to agree they will never set foot in the establishment again and will encourage all their friends to do likewise. His nasty behavior was completely uncalled for--the likelihood of my ripping him off was, by any rational person's estimate, zero to none. I don't know who peed in his cornflakes this morning, but it cost him the custom of more than one regular shopper. Avoid this place at all costs--there is a 7/11 right around the corner that offers better prices and polite service!!

What to pay: Avoid this shop as if it were a roomful of spiders and snakes!
