Exactly the opposite of the Drunk Bus, the Boardwalk Bus is one of the worst deals in Ocean City. This bus goes from one end of the 3-mile boardwalk to the other. The fare is $2.50 for a one-way trip, even if you only want to go 1/2 mile.

Public transportation in Ocean City, Maryland, consists of 2 bus services. With the city bus (daily pass, valid from 6 am to 6am the next morning, $ 2, exact fare required; you could also get a booklet with 10 coupons, which the driver will exchange for passess - $ 15 (you are saving $ 5!!!:)) one can get from Ocean City's southernmost point, Inlet, to the northernmost one - the Delaware line (144th street). With the bus shuttle one can get from the Inlet to West Ocean City's Park and Ride. ($1, unless you have the city buss pass, which is valid for the shuttle as well).
Bussess run every 5 - 10 min from Memorial Day (end of May) through Labor Day (beginning of September); between midnight and 6 am - every 20 minutes. From October until May there is one bus every half an hour.
Bussess, however, tend to get stucked in traffic jams:) so you may wish to consider bringing your bicycle over. BUT you cannot take a bike on the bus, even if you want to pay for this (state law). In the state just behind the corner, Delaware, you can do that - but no more than two bikes on a bus! (state law) By the way, there is another state law no one seems to care about: "Stop for pedestrians at all crosswalks"!
Please note that the bussess, although clean and convenient, are quite freezing (air conditioning). They can be very noisy in June, since this is the time when high - school graduates come to the beach. And unfortunately, if the bus is full, the driver wouldn't stop to pick up passengers!

The Drunk Bus runs from the southern tip of Ocean City to the northern tip all day every day. Its best feature is that for only $2.00, you can get on and off all day anywhere, as many times as you wish. During the day it has many families, but its name comes from the trips later in the evening when it is full of drunk bar-hoppers... Leave a Comment Theme: Bus
