This place was built when we still lived in Glen Burnie, and was and still is very popular. Bob thought it should have been named for the farm that was there when he was a kid, but this appears to be a local Maryland chain (which we did not know at the time), and of course it would have the same name as the others in the chain. The decor is chrome, glass and neon, and they have CD juke boxes in each booth. Service is fast and friendly. They have locations in Annapolis, on Route 40 in Baltimore, Bel Air, Ellicott City, Pasadena, Perry Hall and White Marsh. The link I found to their website may not work.
There is an enormous menu - breakfast any time, seniors dishes, children's menu, and all kinds of desserts which you see when you come in the entrance. You can also buy whole cakes and pies and various cookies and pasteries to take home. They have pasta, Greek dishes, hamburgers, chicken, salads, sandwiches, liver, shrimp - the whole gamut . They also have many specials, which for lunch run about $8. When we stopped on the way to drop off some old clothes at the Salvation Army, we both had the lentil soup, and Bob had a shrimp salad sandwich (real shrimp he said) and I had lemon chicken. (#12 Chicken Francaise). I also had chocolate meringe pie for dessert. Leave a Comment

Water front dining. Beautiful luxury yachts parked right in front of your table. New owner recently put some money in the place and the chef is the best in 100 mile radius. Servers are top shelf like the food, the atmosphere, the view...can you tell I like it here? Watch people jet ski while you eat. Sit outside, listen to Reggae music. Dance with your children!!! When is the last time you danced with your children on the water front? You NEVER out grow this, and they better not either! Wonderful atmosphere, food and service, nautical these of course. They have private dining in the main building and banquets for large groups in an other.

My boss keeps strange hours to eat, taking supper at 4.30pm. That was a long pull until breakfast, so on my own dime, I found this reasonably-priced restaurant cattywampus from the Red Roof Inn in Lanham the night before a liquidation of a recently-closed supermarket a couple of years earlier. The design of this restaurant was most unusual. You enter at the top and place your order to the cook in a very tiny and very modest kitchen with old equipment. From there, you step down into the dining room in a larger, but still small sunken area below.
Many Italian restaurants often offer some Greek food. I had the gyro without white sauce and with a side of fries. Leave a Comment Theme: ItalianPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: least expensiveAddress: 9005 Lanham-Severn Road, Lanham 20706Phone: (301) 459-7989

If the Rusty Scupper has one thing going for it, it's the view of nearly the whole of Baltimore's Inner Harbour. I thought my normally frugal boss had gone mad taking us to this restaurant when I saw the prices on the menu particularly since Anthony, Jackie and George were with us. That was as out of character as the tour of the Inner Harbour itself. Usually on these trips, we do our business, go to our hotel and we're on our own steam until the following morning.
I could hardly visit Baltimore without ordering crab cakes. However, I was greatly disappointed because I knew they weren't supposed to be creamy. At that time (June, 1994) I had never heard of making mayonnaise a part of the crab cake recipe, reasoning that it would pop unmercifully on frying. The fries were good, the service was passable, and the ambience was great, but the disappointing crab cake severely lowered the customer satisfaction grade. Rips is a restaurant, hotel, and liquor store along Route 301 in Bowie, Maryland (just east of Washington, DC). When my boss and I have done business in Baltimore, we would stop here on the way back as Route 301 is less congested than the interstate. Rips has a nice atmosphere. The food is good, but they don't go over the top with that or the decor. The food is good and not overdone, I have never had any problem with the service, and the atmosphere is good. My lone complaint is that Rip's rips a lot of money from your wallet. The food is good, but not upscale, and it's not exactly located on prime real estate. Special thanks to grandmaR for the photo.
I always get the fried scallops with baked potato and a salad on the side. Annapolis has long been a spot for tourists. It is the state Capitol of MD, and the home of the Navy Academy. Since there are lots of tourists, there are also lots of restaurants. Some are horrible and some are mediocre. But this is one that is very, very good. It is across the Spa Creek Bridge from the Annapolis Harbor "loop" but has a large area of waterfront outdoor seating as well as wonderful views from inside when the weather isn't conducive to being outside. It is casual, but nice enough for a special dinner. The menu is the perfect size, and provides some really nice combinations of flavors and texture. Plus there is a decent wine list with

China Express is a buffet-style restaurant at a strip mall in Lanham, Maryland. It has a wide selection of Chinese entrees, side dishes, and desserts in several hot and cold food bars. My boss and I took lunch here on a day trip for business.
I like egg rolls and anything "sweet and sour", but there are so many other choices that anyone eating there is sure to find something they like. I've only passed through Aberdeen, Maryland, in Harford County to the northeast of Baltimore, but I've had the fortune of stopping at the New Ideal Diner. It looks like what one would imagine as a typical mis 20th Century diner.
For 1/3 of the price, New Ideal Diner does a better crab cake than the Rusty Scupper on Baltimore's Inner Harbour. No creamy crab cakes here! I had a crab cake sandwich with plenty of fries. The New Ideal Diner only has a view of the railroad tracks and I-95, but what it lacks in view it makes up for in quality of food. Pargo's serves American style food not unlike Applebee's or Ruby Tueasday's. Instead of a national chain, it seems to be unique to Maryland.
I like to have their chicken tenders dipped in honey mustard sauce served with fries. Leave a Comment Theme: AmericanPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageDirections: Pargo's usually piggybacks with nearby motels. I have eaten at locations in Frederick and Baltimore.
