Yup. Its true. Like everywhere you go there are fans of teams that are smart and know the game and then those that are just plain mor-ons. Most Boston fans fall into the mor-on category. These idiots will chant Yankees Svck when the Yanks are 10 games in front and playing on the west coast instead of the playing the Bo-Sux. It is a great rivalry (or not since most times the yanks win and the red sox lose) but keep in mind it is a case of most ruining and the few suffering the results. Leave a Comment

I hate to state the obvious, but many sports fans don't really act too intelligently, especially after drinking a lot. If you have the opportunity to be in Boston after a Sox game gets out (home or away), be prepared to hear screaming and chanting of "Yankees Suck!! Yankees Suck!!!" over and over and over and over again from fans that were either at the game or at a bar watching the game. I think it is some odd sort of pack mentality. Oh...and this happens no matter who we play. They chant it while playing the Blue Jays...and it's an away game. They actually even started doing it after I left a Tom Petty concert at the Tweeter Center (30 minutes from Boston) and everyone was walking back to their cars. I can only shake my head. People don't talk about baseball that much, unless you're a die-hard fan. So it's not a big deal what you're affiliation is with, although if the topic comes up, you'll get more popularity if you support us! Leave a Comment

Rememer when is Boston, the Yankees suck! This is a common cheer you will hear at Fenway Park whether they are playing the Yankees or not. Leave a Comment

Unless you want to start a fight, YOU HATE THE NEW YORK YANKEES! I never realized how deep that hatred was until I went to some Boston bars and Fenway Park. They were giving books that were 1001 reasons to hate the Yankees! Leave a Comment

Boston is a cosmopolitan city. Enjoy. Brits may encounter some hostility from some Irish Americans over the political situation in Northern Ireland. I did not. Best not to be drawn into argument. Boston is a friendly city, I found people eager to help with directions , even got ticked off for wearing a Yankee's baseball cap in Boston ( oops - forgot ) ! Leave a Comment

AS OF OCTOBER 27, 2004, THE CURSE HAS BEEN REVERSED!!! CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS!!! This tip is now history. Boston's passion is the Red Sox. And when they play the Yankees, nothing else in the world matters. If you are in town when the Red Sox play the Yankees, do yourself a favor and catch a game, or go watch at a bar. This is the best rivalry in all professional sports. 1918. This is the last year the Red Sox won the World Series. They also had a young player named Babe Ruth, who was sold to the Yankees soon after by Red Sox owner Harry Frazee to finance a musical. This is the Curse of the Bambino. Ever since, the Red Sox have had much success, only to have their hearts broken in major catastrophes, which end up killing any chance for another World Series championship (Bucky F****n Dent, Buckner, Boone's Home Run). How did the Yankees fare? 26 championships since then. New England Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady put it best during an interview about the 2003 ALCS - "I was watching game 7 with a friend of mine who is a Yankees fan, and with the game tied in the 9th, he is sweating and nervous and I am as calm as can be. I looked at him and said, why are you so nervous? I KNOW we're gonna lose. Its just a matter of when and how. I was right." Leave a Comment

Before you visit Boston, be warned: Bostonians are very passionate about the Red Sox and sensitive about their (at least until last year) less-than-stellar record. No team brings out those feelings more than the New York Yankees, although people are feeling a little more relaxed about things since the Sox' playoff victory over the Yankees. Still, don't expect to be showered love if you insist on wearing your Yankees cap around Boston, especially if you're wearing it for fashion value alone! Leave a Comment
