Always one of my favorite pubs to go with a small group, grab a table along the wall, drink a beer and chat. It's usually a pretty quiet little bar, but its location under Quincy Market ensures a steady stream of customers. It does a good job of keeping a blue-collar feel in the middle of the tourist and financial areas of Boston.

Ames Plow Tavern: Saving the best for last

by mirrajay Written May 3, 2005

After going to all the "recommended" bars/pubs in the Fanueil Hall area, we stubmbled (literally!) upon the Ames Plow Tavern and had a great time. Skip all the pretentious places in the Back Bay and the pubs that charge a $5 cover in Fanueil Hall, and go right to Ames Plow!

Ames Plow Tavern: A nice little pub

Ames Plow's is a cozy litte pub, right in the middle of the Fanneuil Hall marketplace. Great casual atmosphere, pretty decent drinks & pub grub, and cozy decor. All in all, a nice place to unwind and have a good time...
