 | Boston Nightlife | Tips 11 - 20 of 253 | | | | | | Lansdowne Street & Kenmore Square: Clubs, bars, pubs, sports and more! | Tip Rating: | | | | |
You know you want to spend a crazy night out on the town in Boston, but you just don't know what you want to do? Hit up Lansdowne Street and you won't be sorry. The entire block is jam packed with a variety of dance clubs, lounges, bars and nightclubs all right next to each other. Off the top of my head I can name the following places that I know are right there, located directly across the street from Fenway Park: (I used to live 3 blocks away!) Axis: Dance club Avalon: Dance club Jillians: Three stories of games, food and fun Jake Ivorys: Dueling Piano bar Bill's Bar & Lounge: bar and lounge MaMa Kin: live music, bar Karma Club: dance club Not directly on Lansdowne, but within a 2 min. walk from the Lansdowne Street/Brookline Ave. intersection are these places: Boston Beer Works (food, brewery) Boston Billiard Club (bar, pool) BB Wolf (food, pool, bar) cool bowling alley Copperfield's (bar, live music) Ps. If you're not within walking distance from this area like I was, take the T to get there and back again, unless it's past midnight, then you'll want a cab. It's worth the $...DON'T DRIVE.
Depends on the place you are going. Most places are casual dress except for the Clubs like Axis and Avalon. At those clubs no jeans, sneakers or gym clothes are allowed. Dress to kill if you are going clubbing! There SO much going on on this street there is no way you'll miss it.

 | | | | Sunset Grill & Tap: An encyclopedia of beer! | Tip Rating: | | | | |
The Sunset Grill & Tap is a pretty cool place to hang, even for non-beer drinkers like me. Over 110 beers on tap and 400 available in bottles, the task of choosing a few from the 12 page beer menu can become quite a task, but a fun one at that! A very laid-back establishment on Brighton Ave, the Sunset is a favorite hangout of area residents. Inexpensive drinks, good pub food, great beer selection, rocking jukebox, friendly and knowledgeable waitstaff and always a good time being had. Come hang, have a drink, have a few...and keep coming back. | | | | The Enormous Room: If there ever was a lounge to lounge at... | Tip Rating: | | | | |
The Enormous Room has got to be the most chill, hip lounge I have ever been to. Located in Central Square in Cambridge, one must first find Central Kitchen and then go through the door with the red elephant on it. Sounds like a treasure hunt, but that's actually exactly what it is (perhaps I should have put this under 'off the beaten path'). Once you reach the top of the stairs you have entered the Enormous Room. Not exactly "enormous" but open enough to lounge away from others. Huge carpeted platforms line the black, brick walls with throw pillows and dim hanging lights and a touch of dark Moroccan decor. Even the sunniest of days leave the Enormous Room a hip cave to chill. Light fare is served, I highly recommend the grape leaves and hummus, as well as a slew of drinks. It is easy to waste away a night, lying down, drinking, talking, listening to trippy electronica or whatever else the DJ is in the mood for. There are also occasional live performances. This is more a hip hangout spot for twenty and thirty-somethings, but anyone is welcome. Remove your shoes should you pick a platform to lounge on. | | | | Faneuil Hall / Quincy Market: Choices, choices! | Tip Rating: | | | | |
If you're looking for a crazy, uninhibited, DRUNKEN good time, then Faneuil Hall is the place for you! It's like all of the college keg parties you've ever been to, all rolled into one. Believe me, you definitely won't run out of places to see before curfew hits at 2am! You have a wide selection of Irish pub-type places, like The Black Rose, The Purple Shamrock, Kitty O'Shea's, etc, as well as places that have more of a "club" feel, like Parris and Q. Whatever it is you're looking for, I'm pretty sure you'll find it here. Word of caution, though: Most places charge a cover fee (anywhere from $5-$20).
Dress code is fairly casual for the guys (think JCrew sweaters and jeans), but the ladies tend to dress up a little more. Definitely leave your nice shoes at home, though - they'll just get beer all over them.
