You know you want to spend a crazy night out on the town in Boston, but you just don't know what you want to do? Hit up Lansdowne Street and you won't be sorry. The entire block is jam packed with a variety of dance clubs, lounges, bars and nightclubs all right next to each other.
Off the top of my head I can name the following places that I know are right there, located directly across the street from Fenway Park: (I used to live 3 blocks away!)
Axis: Dance club
Avalon: Dance club
Jillians: Three stories of games, food and fun
Jake Ivorys: Dueling Piano bar
Bill's Bar & Lounge: bar and lounge
MaMa Kin: live music, bar
Karma Club: dance club
Not directly on Lansdowne, but within a
2 min. walk from the Lansdowne Street/Brookline Ave. intersection are these places:
Boston Beer Works (food, brewery)
Boston Billiard Club (bar, pool)
BB Wolf (food, pool, bar)
cool bowling alley
Copperfield's (bar, live music)
Ps. If you're not within walking distance from this area like I was, take the T to get there and back again, unless it's past midnight, then you'll want a cab. It's worth the $...DON'T DRIVE.
Dress Code: Depends on the place you are going.
Most places are casual dress except for the Clubs like Axis and Avalon. At those clubs no jeans, sneakers or gym clothes are allowed. Dress to kill if you are going clubbing!

Incredible for just about anyone. Two pianos face off for 5 hours playing classic bar songs on request. It's pretty cheap (~$5) to get in and a lot of fun. I had to debate whether to put this in the Must See section. Really so much fun. Good for all sorts of crowds.

Lansdowne St. is located right next to Fenway Park, near Boston University/Kenmore Square. This is THE place on the weekends, esp for the college crowd, although people of all ages come here. Bars & dance clubs line this street: Avalon, Karma, Axis, The Modern, Embassy, Bill`s Bar, & Jake Ivory`s. Jillian`s, a billiard/game hall, is just around the corner at the end of Lansdowne.
Take out your dancing shoes & head here for a night of fun & craziness!!

Lansdowne Street right behind Fenway Park is where many partygoers go to get drunk and dance the night away. Avalon is huge, but it's rather pricey and smoky inside. A few doors down is the dance club (Atlas) at Jillian's. It is rather cramped and the crowd is not as chic as other places's, but it costs half as much to get in and the drinks are cheaper. Elsewhere, some of my friends like the Soviet-themed Pravda 116 on Boylston. It has the convenience of being right across from the Boylston T-stop and down the street from Chinatown, the only place in town where restaurants remain open when the clubs close at 2am.

One of the best dance clubs I have been to. It didn't feel like a meat market when I was there (I have heard other peoples opinions that say otherwise). When I was there they did not have a cover charge.

Another happening area is the strip of bars and clubs on Lansdowne Street, next to Fenway Park. Places such as Avalon, Axis, Karma, Bill's Bar, Jillians, Jake Ivory's Piano Bar and Who's On First should keep everyone partying until closing time. If dancing is not your thing but drinking is, visit Boston Beer Works and the Cask 'N Flagon.

Landsdown St. is the street directly behind the Green Monster of Fenway Park. On this street is every kind of bar, disco, or live music venue you could ask for. The Cask and Flaggin was a favorite of mine but there is something for everyone wheather you are taking in a game or not.
Dress Code: I got away with a nice shirt and some jeans but if you're going to a real nice club you must dress to impress.
