You will hear this name a lot as this is a popular chain of restaurants in Boston. However, I expected more from it as it was so widely recommended, but even though it was good I don't think the food here was extraordinary -- at least not for my taste. Yes, the restaurant is good looking and the service is OK, the food is fine too, but nothing to die for (and it's a bit pricey).
Favorite Dish: I was told the clam chowder they served here was the best in town... well, I have to differ!! It was ok, but just ok. That's all I had here so I can't tell about the other dishes in the menu, but the general saying is that the food is nice here. Up to you to try & decide!

The surrondings may be modern but the food is to everyone's liking. I believe that this is the best seafood restaurant in Boston. The prices are high but so is the quality of the food that they offer. You will not find a better seafood restaurant in the heart of Boston.
Favorite Dish: The clam chowder and the lobster are tops on my list. My daughter worked for this restaurant when she was going to school in Boston and she was hghly impressed with all the dishes that Legal Seafood prepares.

We ate in the Prudential Centre, place was quite busy on the weekend so you get a wee buzzer to hold for waiting.
Was the only place in boston I found which sold stawberry diaquaries (nowhere else does frozen).
Service was really good and always ready to help
Favorite Dish: Have to get the Lobster Bake where you get some clam choder first, then a big lobster platter with corn, steamers, muscles and clams with a choice of a side dish - great for your first experience of lobster, not too expensive as if you add everything up separate it works out a little dearer. You would have to be really hungry for it or share between two

The one I went to is the one near the New England Aquarium.
The food was good, and the service was even better. The waiting staff were all very friendly and helpful.
There are a lot of legal seafood restaurants in Massachussetts (10, I've heard) and they all have the same great food.
Favorite Dish: The new england clam chowder is unmatched anywhere else.
In general, I'd stick to what they are best known for - seafood!

I only ate here twice - and I gambled twice.
First time round I tried 'Spicy Shandong Bluefish' - absolutely gorgeous!
Second time round I tried the Catfish - again: amazing!
I had never tried these dishes before and they were gentle on the palate and a real treat - there is also a general platter and an old fashioned 'Cod & Fries' option in case your dad is with you!
Great food - great prices - enjoy!

The restaurant was reccommend to us by a shopkeeper.
Abience was nice but not overly fancy. We shared a bowl of clam chowder (Fabulous!!!), lobster tail, and mussles and clams, and corn on the cob. Cost about $35US. Also had martini for $9!!! Wanted to try some seafood, and most was good, but the mussels and clams I could do without. The meal was definetly enough to share! But next time would order my own chowder, 'cause it was amazing! Waitress was alright but I got the impression our service was lacking becuase we were sharing a plate, and so the bill would be less.
Favorite Dish: The chowder, hands down! I have never had clam chowder before, but this was thick but not too rich, with nice chunks and no fishy flavor at all. Very nice.

Legal Seafood is a New England Chain that offers a wide variety of seafood of outstanding quality. In addition to the food, they also have a good beer and wine selection as well.
We ate at the Legal Seafood by the Aquarium and it is almost always crowded. Expect a wait to be seated or hang out at the bar. It's worth the wait!
Favorite Dish: The Clam Chowder is one of their specalties and they claim to have served it at the last six Presidential Inaugurations.
I also had the Lobster Ravioli. It was good but not as good as the Lobster Ravioli that they make at Strega in Boston (see elsewhere).
Check out their fresh catch as well!

This New England chain has since migrated from Boston to New York. I already know of at least three in the 50 mile radius of my home.
We just loved this place when we visited a few years ago (Boston). The decor was nautical in nature and the dining area was huge. Lots of families and very kid friendly.
The dishes were delicious! Clam chowder, lobster (bigger than I ever seen), clams, mussels, scallops, salmon, tuna and swordfish.
Definately have a seafood dish.. Highly recommended no matter what location. The experience will be pretty equal.

I haven't tried many seafood restaurants in Boston and I am sure there are better (at least that is what I have heard), but Legal Sea Foods is my favorite place for seafood in Boston. I have always had a great meal and a great time here and make it a point to eat here every time I go to Boston.
There are many locations, but I have always eaten at the Long Wharf location by the Aquarium. Legal Sea Foods has recently opened restaurants all over the east coast, but started in Boston.
The service is very good, and the menu has a nice selection. On some busy nights, prepare to wait 30 minutes to more than an hour for a table. Dress is casual.
Legal Sea Foods is open daily for lunch and dinner.
Favorite Dish: The New England clam chowder is some of the best I have ever had. The raw oysters and steamed mussels are very good.
Definitely try the lobster or any of the fish (swordfish, tuna, scrod).
If you want a good sampler of the menu, try either the lobster bake (lobster, steamers, mussels, corn, clam chowder, and a side) or the fisherman's platter (fried shrimp, scallops, calamari, clams, and haddock).
