    LEGAL SEA FOODS. Great service with nice decor. Convenient location. Just a few steps to the aquarium & Long wharf. Dinner is dearer than lunch.

    Clam chowder & fried oysters. The very best.

  • The food is fantastic. Meals are not cheap, but not overly expensive either, although you can spend as much as you want if you go all out with drinks, appetizers and dessert.

  • The restaurant is arguably the most famous Boston-bred chain to branch out (at least on the East Coast). The restaurant's name comes from its motto - 'If it's not fresh, it's not Legal'. The clam chowder is said to be New England's best (which would make it the best in the world). I tried the lobster and I like it. If the restaurant's not full (which seldom happens) your friendly food server (pc-speak) will crack your lobster for you. I am not really a food connoisseur so I couldn't really judge whether the lobster was better or worse than any I've had. But, I enjoyed it.

    Our favorite restaurant in Boston is Legal Seafoods, located at the Prudential Center. As their motto says, 'if it isn't fresh, it isn't Legal', the fish is fresh and tasty.

    Clam Chowder, by far the best ever.

  • You will hear this name a lot as this is a popular chain of restaurants in Boston. However, I expected more from it as it was so widely recommended, but even though it was good I don't think the food here was extraordinary -- at least not for my taste. Yes, the restaurant is good looking and the service is OK, the food is fine too, but nothing to die for (and it's a bit pricey).

    I was told the clam chowder they served here was the best in town... well, I have to differ!! It was ok, but just ok. That's all I had here so I can't tell about the other dishes in the menu, but the general saying is that the food is nice here. Up to you to try & decide!

  • Legal Seafoods has been around for more than 50 years. They have built an excellent reputation with fresh fish & other kinds of seafood. Their clam chowder is delicious & their raw oysters are amazing! The lobster here is a bit expensive but the taste is good. Everything I`ve ever ordered on their menu has been delicious. I`ve never walked away disappointed. There is a location at The Prudential on Boylston St. Always a line for lunch (best time to go) so be prepared!

    Try the baked stuffed schrod w/ mashed potatoes. A basket of mussels. Clam chowder. Soft shell crab sandwich in the summertime.
