Charles River Canoe & Kayak offers boat rentals, sales and instruction on the Charles River in 2 locations: Newton Lower Falls and in Brighton. We rented a couple of kayaks at the Newton location and paddled around for 3 hours for $80 for the two boats. The Charles River is actually very scenic and full of life. It's a great way to spend a day!

Equipment: A dry bag is essential if you want to bring a camera or anything else that can't get wet. You can get dry bags at most outdoor sporting goods stores. You can also buy one at the Newton location.
