Freedom Trail: A must to see Boston
Take a two day vaca. in Boston and try one of the trolley -tours for the best overview of the city on your first day . Then walk to the places you like . Some of the tours let you get on and off in each place. take these tours only and watch the start and stop times for the day plus drop off locations.

Freedom Trail: Freedom you can walk all the way to it
The Freedom Trail is the highlight of the Boston tourist circuit.

Built around the story of Paul Revere one walks from point to point following the footsteps of Paul Revere and the riders.

The trail is special for it's importance. The walk is long but not strenuous. As an alternative the Trolley Tours do much of the trail in their stops so one can just hop on and off if they wish.

  • The Old State House was built in 1713 and served as the state capitol until 1797. From the balcony the Declaration of Indepence was first read to Bostononians. George Washington also watched a parade from this building. Outside it's door is where the Boston Massacre happend in 1770 in which Crispus Attucks became the 1st person to die in the American Revolution.

Freedom Trail: Paul Revere House - Freedom Trail
The Paul Revere house was built in 1680. It was almost a hundred years old when Paul Revere moved in with his family. Over the years the house has been modified many times but in the early 1900's it was restored.

The small two story house is well restored but is still showing it's age. Outside, there is a nice garden as well as a bell that Revere cast. In addition to being a silversmith, Revere did a lot of work with other metals as well including casting Bells and Cannons.

If you are walking the Freedom Trail get a combo pass that will provide admission to the Revere House, Old State House, and Old South Meeting House. It'll save you a little money.

    Freedom Trail: Freedom Trail
The centerpiece of historical Boston, this series of churches, halls, and marketplaces tell the story of the events leading up to the American Revolution. Highlights along the trail include the starting point, Boston Common, the Old North Church, and Paul Revere's House. THe trail is also littered with the graves of famous revolutionaries including John Hancock, Cotton Mather, and Ben Franklin.

Freedom Trail: Freedom trail, why not?
The freedom trail is a good way to see the city, and get in a good chunk of Boston's history. The freedom trail of Boston is a walking route from Boston common to Bunker Hill with many other stops on the way. The freedom trail runs through the old neighborhoods of North Boston and hits most of the major revelutionary war historical sights. I personally haven't done the freedom trail since my fifth grade field, but its defianetly a good way to spend a day in Boston, especially if your just in town for a day or two.

  • Directions: Begins at the Boston common (park street on the red or green lines), ends at U.S.S Constitution (walking distance from community college on the orange line)

    Freedom Trail: Freedom Trail
The old state meeting Diet. Seemingly it is the oldest building in Boston built by 1713. It is famous for having read out the Declaration of Independence aloud toward new Massachusetts residents on July 18, 1776 from the balcony. It is also the State Street station of a blue line now.
