  • If you're into history, I definitely recommend doing the Freedom Trail. It hits all the important places in Boston which mostly occured during the American Revolution. It gives the perfect blend of history mixed in with modern skyscrapers.

    JUST START AT THE BOSTON COMMON and follow the bricks lined along the middle of the sidewalk. Its the greatest self-guided tour in America, in my opinion.

    Once you find the Freedom Trail (a wide red stripe painted along the tourist path), you can put your guide books and maps away. Simply follow the trail, perhaps crossing the street if you're wary of living out the tourist stereotypes, to hit interesting sites. Boston is a walkable city and many sites are within easy walking distance.
