The CITGO sign, which blazes its neon advertisement high above Kenmore Square, has become a beloved, if obscure, local landmark. It is a welcome sign, too, for the runners of the Boston Marathon, for whom it is an indication the finish line is near. The CITGO sign is best viewed at night when its flashing pattern can be best appreciated, or, better yet, over the left field of Fenway Park during a warm summer night's baseball game.
