Not all monuments at the Public Garden are in honor of famous people. The Ether Monument celebrates one of man's great medical achievements - the use of anaesthesia for the first time in 1846.

Here in the middle of that park is the bridge over Swanlake, there can you go in a Swanboat for a trip over the lake (small lake).
The Common's a well-tended to park and a lovely place to take a stroll in. Although I work right by it, I don't go there enough. Shame. It's nice place!

Don't forget The Public...
Don't forget The Public Gardens next to Boston Commons. This was my favorite part of town, a true oasis of quiet set right in the center of this bustling big city.
