Boston has the best public transportation system I've experienced--New York's is manageable if you have time to figure it out, but I didn't. Boston's is frequent, reliable, and on a pretty human scale. I used to be scared to ride underground, but after living in Boston, I am scared of very little, and I am a huge fan of riding the T. I think the price has gone up to $1.25 per ride, but a T pass is a great value for commuters. Or, because the T is indeed on a human scale, if you're headed outbound and find an aboveground stop, you can get on for free. Also, if you ride the green line (as opposed to the red, which has recorded voiceovers that are never synced to the correct stop), you can have a most excellent experience watching and listening to the T driver. And you should always say thank you when you get off the train. Leave a Comment Theme: Subway/Metro

Fun and Music by garridogal The Brookline 300 Street fair was the best one I've been to here! Soooo many vendors, food stands, musicians and activities. It was exhausting and fun! Leave a Comment Address: Harvard StreetDirections: From Coolidge Corner to halfway down to Comm Ave

Boston's only not-for-profit theatre. They show first run arthouse films, independent films, international cinema, documentaries, cinema classics, and midnite movies. Basically, this isn't the typical mainstream theater at the mall. It's unlikely that Mr. Moviefone (movies.aol.com) will do a "reel deal" feature on these films. I feel so luckly to live in an area rich with wonderful place to see movies (Brattle, Kendall..) and Coolidge Corner is one of the best. I have so many great memories here. This is where I discovered the annual 24 hour Sci-Fi Marathon , sing-a-long Sound of Music, Spike and Mike's Festival of Sick and Twisted Animation, Midnight showings of Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Once More With Feeling, and my cousin had one of her films screened upstairts ( Old Man Dogs ). The main theatre seats 600 people, the one upstairs seats about 250, the screening room seats a cozy 45.
