A lot of people ride their bikes on the Cape Cod Rail Trail every year, but not many see this section of the old tracks, a bit past the eastern end of the trail. Great place to walk.
See if you can find the rusty but functional railroad switch. You can operate it with impunity, as trains no longer use this track.

The tidal flats in cape cod bay are a year round wonder...In the summertime or early fall you can step comfortably into the place that doesn't belong to neither the land nor the sea but is a combination of both...The flats are an incredible treat! As spring emerges after the winter months (during cold, snowy seasons), an alien landscape of landbound icebergs are just a wild trip to check out at low tide on the flats. You might think you were on another planet!

very long beachfront on low tide. notice the sandbars, they leave lots of 1 to 3ft pools to splash or chill out near.

this is a ritual. After a night of drinking we would drag our groggy butts to the Pancake Man to refuel.

this is the last thing you see at the rotary before going over the borne bridge to enter the cape. Cape cod is full of these odd landmarks off the road at any given time.

Favorite thing: when driving around take note of all the 'neat' things you see off the road. This was a restaurant. The main roads are littered with windmills, buoys, boats, nets, and anything else to do with the sea.
