One of the great things to do in the Cape Cod area is just hire a bike and cycle around the various little port towns. Its great fun and the scenary is amazing.

If you prefer you can catch a ferry from Hyannis port to Marthas Vineyard and other islands off the coastline. These make an excellent day out and you never know who you'll see with all the stars buying property in the area.

Alternatively you could catch a bus to Boston and enjoy this amazing city, with great parks and restaurants, Havard Uni and lots more to take in and do.

  • I had planned this trip down...

I had planned this trip down to the minute we left. We took a Hyline Ferry to Nantucket for the day. I would receomend taking a ferry to Nantucket or Martha's Vinyard for a day. There are to ferry companies that serve Hyannis, Hyline and the Steamship Authority.

This was a house we saw in our travels. One never know what will 'pop out' at you. I bet the view would be great. Below this house is a beach, which needed exploring. Take time to explore and not just go to the well known attractions.

    Cape Cod Central Railroad

The Cape Cod Railway is an interesting way to see from Yarmouth, North Hyannis, West Barnstable, Sandwich, Sagamore Bridge to Bourne. It is a two hour ride into the past and present through scenic Cape Cod and some backwoods areas. We passed the cranberry bogs, salt marshes, sand dunes, followed the canal for a short distance and had a narrated tour the entire way there and back. My only suggestion is that they cut back the trees and bushes in certain areas for a better view. There is also a dinner train which sounded good.

    Go fishin' !

by Pawtuxet Updated Jun 24, 2015

There are all sorts of options for fishermen. Renting a boat for the day is top notch. You can find these boats along the public docks.

Nice place to view the bay and beaches

    by 807Wheaton Written Sep 16, 2013

We made sure we visited the JFK Memorial near the bay in Hyannis. There is also a memorial to the Korean Veterans here. Nice park with roses blooming and a lovely ocean view.

Find one of these helpful young men to direct you into a parking lot and simply walk across the street to board your boat to the islands.

The Hibel Museum has Art Exhibitions, Educational Programs, and Charity works. The main office is in Florida, but here you can see and buy what catches your eye.
