Prior to my visit to this restaurant, I had only eaten Cambodian food in the homes of my friends while growing up in the city. For some unknown reason, there weren't any Cambodian restaurants in the city when I was a kid, even though Lowell had the second largest Cambodian population in the United States. ( I believe the city has officially surpassed Long Beach, California in this regard.) This restaurant was located along the path we traveled from our hotel into downtown Lowell, so we decided to try out. The restaurant was extremely clean, serene, & contained an incredible Southeast Asian atmosphere.
My entire family enjoyed our experience as we found the food absolutely deicious. I sampled a traditional Khmer dish called Prahoc k'tis, a plate comprised of fresh veggies, white rice, & a fish paste in milk. The smell was rather bad, but the taste was sensational. My wife had the Mee katang, a plate comprised of chicken, white rice, noodles (made out of rice, not flour), & spinach. My son ate the Mee Cha wich was comprised somewhat like my wife's dish but with Tilapia instead of chicken. My daughter ate shrimp wrapped in a blanket. A steak bomb sub is a hot submarine sandwich found in most pizzerias & sub shops throughout New England. The sub has a reputation for being overstuffed & very messy to consume. A typical sub consists of numerous slices of steak with either salami or pepperoni & melted provolone cheese under grilled onions, sautéed red & green bell peppers, mushrooms, & peppered shaved steak all stuffed inside a toasted roll of bread.
I love the Steak Bomb Sub & the pizza, which can all be bought at a reasonable price. However, don't expect to be offered any meal deals. If you want fries & a drink, you will have to pay for them separately. As a teenager who skipped a great deal of his classes at Lowell High School, I frequented Arthur’s Paradise Diner every chance I got. Like many other residents of the city, I was addicted to the Boot Mill Sandwich, which is a delightful concoction of bacon, sausage or ham with potatoes, cheese, & eggs. The diner is rather popular, attracting people from all over Middlesex County.
Like I previously stated, my favorite item on the menu was the Boot Mill Sandwich; however, I also enjoyed the cinnamon rolls, French toast, & donuts. Leave a Comment Theme: LocalPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averagePhone: 112 Bridge Street

Sowy’s is a Puerto Rican panaderia that offers a wide assortment of Puerto Rican & American pastries & breakfast items. The establishment is located in the Acre neighborhood & is opened rather early in the morning in order to cater to the early birds-which I am not! Walking towards the bakery, I could smell it from miles away. Although I am not much of a breakfast person, I could not resist the aroma of fresh food.
There are tons of items familiar to the eye, like cheese cake. However, I wanted to try a traditional Puerto Rican pastry. After spending roughly 5 minutes on deciding what I wanted, I finally chose to buy two chicken tacos-Puerto Rican style. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, & extremely cheap. For two tacos & a large cup of Colombian coffee, I paid a little under three dollars. Caffe Paradiso by emilienoelle This Italian cafe is located in a historic firehouse downtown. Decorated with authentic Italian imports, marble, and fixtures it offers superb coffee drinks, desserts, lunch items, and has a beautiful full bar specializing in a large variety of martinis. Sidewalk dining in warm weather. A nice, relaxing atmosphere to sit and talk with a cup of coffee. Open late, until 2 AM most nights.
The desserts and caffe latte are excellent, especially the canolis. I also really like their chocolate martinis! Leave a Comment

Olive That & More by emilienoelle This deli/grocery is located downtown in the heart of the city. They sell everything from made to order sandwiches on your choice of freshly baked bread, homemade soups and chowders, several deli side items, goumet cheeses, beer, wine, and a variety of interesting and uncommon varieties of soda. Their groceries range from the gourmet (mango chutney) to the everyday (bread and milk). They also do catering and will deliver orders locally. In the mornings they offer a variety of pastries and delicious coffee. Eat in or take out.
Everything here is good, but I love their Tuna salad. I know you're thinking, "Tuna, how boring," but really it's the best I've ever had anywhere. I also recommend the jalepeno potato chips. Another cool thing about this deli is that it is owned by my hairdresser and her husband. I just hope she doesn't stop cutting hair anytime soon! This newly opened Mexican place is great. The decor is authentic Mexican, but they have managed to also keep much of the orignal character of the historic builing in which it is located (exposed brick walls, posts and beams, skylights). It is a casual place where you place your order at the counter and then wait for your name to be called. It was a bit hectic when we ate there, but they have only been open since Aug, 16th, so they may still need to work out some kinks.
We had the barbacoa (spiced beef)enchaladas with black beans and rice. It was good, but really needed a lot more kick in the spice department. (There may be some kinks to work out in the kitchen as well.) They sell Mexican beer by the bottle (Corona, Sol, Negra Modelo) and wines by the glass along with a cool assortment of Mexican sodas. They also have take-out, delivery, and catering.
