When we were staying with friends in the general area of Barnstable, Cape Cod, they took us here for our departing dinner, being one of their most favorite, and we can see why! The restaurant is homey and the food superb, but not inexpensive.

Extensive wine list. See the webstie for menu.

LUNCH 11:30am–3:00pm
DINNER 5:00pm–9:00pm (Fri. & Sat. 9:30)
SUNDAY BRUNCH 11:30am–3:00pm
Resevations NOT taken.

Favorite Dish: Between us we had Linguine w/clam sauce, Sole Curry, Grilled Salmon and Scallops wrapped in bacon and all were large helpings, exquisitely served and DELICIOUS!

also they served several wonderful desserts of their own recipes.

Liam's: At Nauset Beach

Liam's Nauset Beach

The infamous snack shack located at Nauset Beach, Liam's is legendary on the Cape for it's fried seafood and i'ts incredible onion rings. As far as beach snack shack's go, Liam's has all of the staples: burgers, hot dogs, water, soda, shakes, and ice cream. But if you're really going to indulge at Liam's, fried is the way to go: clam strip rolls, shrimp rolls, fried fish, french fries, and more. But the best item on the menu is, by far, the onion rings. Shoe-string long strips of super-thin sliced onion are lightly breaded and then deep fried, so you have as much fried onion as breading.

Liam's is open daily in-season (mid-June through Labor Day), and weekends in the Spring and Summer. Liam's shares it's parking lot with Nauset Beach, so when the beach lot is full, you're out of luck for eating at Liam's.

Land Ho: Good Chowder, Cute Decor
ForestqueenNYC profile photo
ForestqueenNYC 485 reviews

In my search for the chowder to outdo the chowder at O'Dowds in Roundstone, Ireland, I have put on a few pounds and have become quite the maven. So far the chowder at Land Ho is the only one that comes close and I have had a lot of chowder since being here in Massachusetts for the past month.

In spite of the fact that, aside from the chowder, the food really isn't that great, the place is packed. If you don't get there early you will have to wait in line to get in. It is kind of cute as far as the atmosphere goes.

No reservations.

Hours on-Sat 11:30am-10pm; Sun noon-10pm. Open year-round

Mahoney's Atlantic Bar: Good food + location

Mahoney's is a little pricey, but the food is good. We had littlenecks ($7) for an appetizer, with horseradish sauce - good and spicey. For dinner we had grilled tuna and lobster pasta. The tuna was grilled with ginger and garlic, and served medium to my order. The lobster and seafood pasta had big chunks of lobster. This plus a couple of Newcastles and a glass of wine ran about 70 bucks. The restaurant was deserted, which was a little odd for 6:00 pm on Saturday, every place around seemed very busy. But when we drove by a little later, it was indeed packed! I would recommed Mahoney's.

Cottage Street Bakery: The Perfect New England Bakery

I actually think that the Cottage Street Bakery may be the closest thing to pure perfection that I can think of. It's a snug, wallpapered bakery that makes some of the best muffins, pastries, and cakes on earth. They even offer breakfast in the morning. Everyone realizes this, so it's usually teeming with people. Brave them - it's worth it. The entire place is oozing with quaintness, character, and charm. Grab a mouth-wateringly delicious muffin and a coffee and people watch under an umbrella'd table outside.

Favorite Dish: The CSB makes a muffin called the "dirt bomb" - it's a cakelike muffin, so moist and sweet - rolled in cinnamon and sugar. It is literally the best tasting thing there is. It's probably about 5000 calories. Honestly, who cares?

A Cozy Place to eat :-)))

I had the fish and chips and my wife had the Seafood Medley. The kids dined on chicken fingers and of course we had cheesecake!! It was an excellent meal, with great atmosphere and good company. The waiters were prompt, courteous, and really cared about us. I highly recommend this eatery!
