Forever PLAID was written and originally directed and choreeographed by Stuart Ross. It's a stitch. Four man show...they are so full of energy fun and great voices...lots of music throughout the show...old stuff from the 50's and 60's. They did a wonderful job with just a few props and interesting lighting.
You can have a drink at the little lounge in the lobby.
I really enjoyed the little theater. These small theaters struggle to keep themselves above water, so try to support them whenever you can.

Crammed with restaurants, bars, and small theatres, Commercial Street offers the best nighttime entertainment on Cape Cod. In fact, the nightlife scene is so great here that Boston residents often ferry over to party here. Various cabaret shows and theatre productions are highlighted by Provincetown's vibrant arts community. Commercial Street at night is a dizzying experience, with music pouring from the old buildings to the street, and people of all types enjoying the atmosphere.

Delightful bar in old Captains House. Big open fire place dominates this gloomily lit (bit I see that as a positive point!), stone-floored, friendly bar. A few tables, benches and chairs scattered round the periphery - this is mostly about standing or sitting perched on stool at the bar. Reminded me of old pubs in Britain. Undoutedly completely heaving with people during the season.
Dress Code: Whatever, but as there are 2 different clubs attached to the bar (including one leather bar upstairs!!), you make your own choice........

The most popular club in town. In season - 2000 revellers. Out of season - free entry and space to dance (and to see and be seen more easily - it is primarily a gay club afterall LOL). For its size, surprisingly intimate even when few people around, This is mainly because this is no cavernous London or NYC hi-tec laser show. Low ceilings, several 'sections' rather than one massive dance-floor, couple of bars.
Dress Code: Dress to be seen - so the less the better LOL

Amazingly, everything is closed by 1am with the exception of this place. Coffee and a slice of pizza is the norm here, either inside or sitting on the steps. Everyone who is disgorging from the clubs will probably end up here - so its the place to catch up with the gossip of the night.....

Restaurant cum bar. Great cocktails, food not so interesting (as the waiter informed me, the chef is a 'sauce queen' (!) who drowns the food with masses of the stuff) (I found this information out at Spiritus - see above!!!).
Upstairs is the cabaret theatre where most nights there is the 'treat' of the drag cabaret.

We always see what's at the Church theater, believe it or not-- the basement of the Unitarian Church does great little shows all summer long.
This summer, for our Ptown week, we've already got tix to the Whitman Sings Provincetown concert, featuring songs with lyrics by Walt Whitman. We saw the singer in LA and by chance we'll be there at the same time.

There's a good question. I don't know exactly. I'm not much of a dance club guy. There's certainly fun to be had. Great drag shows, tea dances, and wonderful places to just sit and have a drink or 10.
Walk around and someone will hand you a flyer! Straight or gay, there's someplace you'll be comfy.
