There are a number of places where you can take whale watching tours, but Provincetown, being right on the tip of Cape Cod gets you to the whales the soonest. If I remember correctly, we went with Dolphin Fleet. An excellent crew and a great guide allowed us to get very close to a number of humpback whales and we learned a lot about them.
There are many lighthouses on Cape Cod. I had time to visit only one. Just because of the view it was already pleasure to be there. So much air and ocean around...
This is on the actual spot where the Pilgrims landed. It's not as popular as the monument though. There's a little square there.
For those who want to experience the sand dunes directly, just take a short car ride to the end of the provincetwon and you will not miss it.
Here is one of the wonderful views from the top of the tower. With the small church in the foreground Provincetown gives the deception of being just a sleepy little New England village.
No trip to the beach is complete without walking along the waterline collecting shells and beach-glass.
Race Point at Cape Cod National Seashores
The Sand Dunes are amazing here. It also is the public beach of the greater Provincetown area.
Highland (Cape Cod) Light House in North Truro
