    Great Escape(CLOSED): Pre-Dinner Drinks

    by cjg1 Updated Nov 6, 2013

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

We had dinner reservations at 6pm and were quite a bit early so we decided to head back to the bar for a pre-dinner drink or two. The bar area was very busy and we managed to snag the last two available seats.

After checking out the bar menu I decided to have a beer and my wife had a Subpoena Cosmo. As we waited for our drinks; we checked out what the patrons at the bar were enjoying. Some of them had really delicious looking meals in front of them; pasta primavera, huge mussel pots and jumbo salads. I couldn't wait for our table to be ready so we could dig into a delicious meal as well.

Our drinks arrived quickly with a friendly smile from the bartender. We fell into conversation with a local couple and time flew by. A half hour had passed and the hostess came and found us to escort us to our seats. We had such a nice time at the bar that I was glad we arrived early.

Salem Beer Works: A great place to go after a haunted walk!

by Jefie Written Dec 17, 2005

I really enjoyed the atmosphere at Salem Beer Works. First of all, the beer menu, which includes several award-winning beers, has to be one of the most extensive I've ever seen. It is a fairly big pub, with a nice outdoor terrace and some pool tables. The location is also great as it's right in the middle of all the downtown attractions. Our waitress was very nice and friendly so all in all, we spent a really nice evening there!

Dodge Street Bar and Grill has great live music and great food! It's on a little road tucked inside a parking lot behind Walgreen's just off Lafayette and Derby Streets.

Very young children may be frightened.
Ten and above will enjoy it.
