These data are from the Sturbridge crimes stats:

no murders in 6 years
3 rapes per year on average
170 thefts (shoplift,pickpocket,from unlocked cars) per year on average
12 car thefts per year on average.

Those numbers are pretty low for a town the size of Sturbridge with the number of tourists it has. Sturbridge is well below the national average on the crime scale. It is about a 7 out of 10 on the safe scale where 0 is dangerous and 10 is safe.

Use common sense and caution and Sturbridge will be a safe place for you to visit.
