Waltham Watch Factory
PupDawg Says:
I worked in the factory for a few years and fell in love with the design and history of the Watch Factory. The factory employees many local residents and produced watches between 1854 - 1950's. After our company moved out in 2004, a complete renovation has begun, creating...

Picnic on the Common
PupDawg Says:
A little green space in the heart of the Watch City - the Common is on Main and Moody Streets. Grab a bite to go at one of the numerous local restaurants and pull up your blanket on the common. You can sit in the gazebo or on a bench and people watch. Bring a frisbee and get...
Upper Charles River Reservation - The River Walk
PupDawg Says:
Our favorite walking trail in the city. The stretch from Watertown Square to Prospect Street in Waltham has mostly paved walking trails that take you past the dam on Moody Street, with wooded river banks and historic buildings. After Prospect Street you will travel behind...
Rather a striking garage
Pawtuxet Says:
The exteriors of the buildings are classic. The carriage house is still in tact, but no doubt used for offices nowadays. The exterior of the greenhouse is that wonderful tiny brick. The views in all directions are cool and serene. The driveway curves between old stone walls...
Walk the grounds of Lyman's estate
Pawtuxet Says:
The grounds of the estate are wonderful. There are probably more areas to be seen, but we concentrated on the greenhouses and plant sale today. We did walk around the mansion, which can be booked for weddings and special events. It was closed today, but I would like to see...
Explore the multi level greenhouses
Pawtuxet Says:
The greenhouses are constructed of small old brick and wooden windows...with cast iron pipe carrying the water throughout. They may have some modern day sprinkler systems, but they were not evident to me.There is one section filled with the most sensational orchids I've ever...
Collect some herbs for your summer garden
Pawtuxet Says:
Of course we gathered some herb plants while we were at Lyman's. I also brought home a Hosta I have been searching for. We exercised self control before filling my daughter's car to the top. Their prices were very reasonable and when the profit goes to a good cause like the...
Brandeis University
KarenandCory Says:
Massachusetts is known for it's universities and it's important to note that not all the best schools are located in the immediate Boston/Cambridge area. Brandeis is in Waltham. Brandeis is the youngest private research university, as well as the only nonsectarian...
Doubletree Guest Suites' Boston/Waltham: Lucky to Stay Here
marca Says:
Booked a 1 nite stay in Waltham thru Priceline. Felt very lucky that Doubletree accepted our bid of $75. Upon checkin, was even more surprised that they put us in a King suite! 1st room had a sofa, table and chairs and TV. There was a small sink and refrigerator and then a...
Doubletree Guest Suites Boston - Waltham: Boston area All Suite hotel
cjg1 Says:
I love this hotel. It is everything I need in a Boston area stay. It is cheap in that I rarely come if its going to be more than $99+ tax. Its a hilton property so the stays mean much. And on the hilton stay route there is a Hilton Garden in across the street that allows 2...
Cruz Market: Great food in the back of the store
fdrich29 Says:
A friend of mine at work had been telling me about this place for awhile before we finally started going a few months ago. Cruz Market is a small South American convenience store on Felton Street. If you walk directly to the back of the store you'll see a half-door. That's...
Bison County Smokehouse and Grill: Great BBQ on Moody Street
fdrich29 Says:
Tonight....The Bison! I love this place, and feel lucky to have it right here in town. A Sunday night staple for me and my friends. I love being able to watch them prepare the food, which is done in the back room dining area for all to see. Creates a very nice atmosphere for...

Watch City Brewery: Can't Resist a BrewPub
marca Says:
We parked on Moody street and walked down the street looking for a restaurant for dinner. Our kids found a place diagonally across the street but they had a wait. I turned around and what do I see but a Brewpub!! The pub was busy but we were able to be seated right away. I...
THE CHATEAU: Great reasonably priced Italian food!
KarenandCory Says:
Family owned and operated since 1933, Waltham is the original location of the Chateau and is a local favorite. The menu is huge, as is the restaurant. Tons of food, tons of tables, tons of patrons. It's always crowded here. The service is friendly and the food is good. You...
Moody Street: Restaurants, Bars and Ice Cream
Helpfulness
fdrich29 198 reviews
Moody Street in Waltham, Massachusetts, has become quite the hot spot for dining and drinking, offering cuisine from around the world. Starting at the end of the street closest to Waltham Center you have Jake's BBQ, Margaritas, Watch City Brewery (excellent beers) and The Skelig (sister bar to the famous Burren in Davis Square, Somerville). It doesn't end there, further up the street you have The Bison, several chinese food places, no less than two Indian restaurants, a tapas bar, more chinese restaurants (it's truly amazing how many there are on this street). Also on Moody Street is Lizzy's Ice Cream which will invariably have a line every night in the summer time. After the demolition of Dean's Dairy (RIP), Lizzy's picked up the title of Waltham's best ice cream. Add several interesting small shops and an artsy movie theatre and you plenty of options for a night out in the Watch City.
Dress Code: Casual atmosphere, wear comfortable shoes.

Boat landing and park on Woerd Street
fdrich29 Says:
I'm often on the street for work and have recently made time to "stop and smell the flowers", or in the case, take pictures. I was amazed by how beautiful this area is, and lost any feeling that I was still in Waltham. The Charles River is beautiful here, and you can truly...
